We translated the article Proof of an enormous collision (거대한 충돌의 증거, author/s unknown), published in the magazine World of Science (과학의 세계) in 2019. 

   In the process of studying the meteorites that reach Earth, proofs were found of an enormous collision where the Moon was originated. 

   A strong hypothesis about the origin of the Moon has it that the Earth´s satellite originated when the fragments of a celestial body the size of Mars which collided against Earth around 4500 millions of years ago. However, nearly no direct proof has been found for this tremendous collision. 
   According to some scientists from a research center, it is highly probable that a part of the fragments resulting from this tremendous collision did not make part of the Moon but flew as far as the Asteroid Belt, in front of Mars, where they collided with asteroids. 
   They analised a meteorite that is guessed to have come to Earth from the asteroid Vesta, discovering an fragments that can be considered the traces of the tremendous collision. Putting together the results of analysing these proofs with those of modelling the orbits of these fragments, they concluded that the time of the gigantic collision was around 4470 millions of years ago, a period that matches well previous age estimations.
